Birthday weekend in San Francisco

March is full of birthdays in the Cowgill friends/family circle...Cole, James, Travis, Greg, Laura, Kirstie, Kelsey, Amy, and myself.
For the weekend, the Cowgills and Fagos came up to share a fun birthday weekend together. We hung out in the city and ate at the Stinking Rose to celebrate Travis, Amy and my birthday. We also ate at Cattleman's in Petaluma to celebrate Jim & Sharon's anniversary. Sunday we went on a hike near the community college. Avy and Doodle Bug had the most fun.
Family picture before the hike.

Avy holding on for dEAR life.

A cute picture of Amy and Travis...and Jim. haha.
Avy had fun playing in the little lake.

The Fago family.

Doodle Bug had fun playing in the little lake on the hike.

Avy was so tired after the hike, Uncle Jeremy seemed like the perfect place to take an afternoon nap.

Enjoying the beauty of Northern California

This past weekend, my parents came up with our family friends to participate in the annual Barrel Tasting at various winery's up here in Northern California.

Sunday night my parents, Jeremy and I went to The Melting Pot (fondu!!!). It was lots of fun, especially the dessert!

Hiking in the hills of Novato

Jeremy and I decided to take Doodle Bug on a hike today in the hills of Novato. She had lots of fun running on the trails, through the creek, and sniffing (basically, trying to eat) special "cookies" (horse droppings) every chance she got.

A big THANK YOU to youtube.com

One of Jeremy's favorite things about his clinical rotations is dressing up in his new clothes, although he's never been able to tie a tie... Before we came up to Novato, Travis tied all his ties so that Jeremy could just slip them over his head and tighten them. Well, that's not much help to the new ties we bought from Marshall's...Jeremy tried to figure it out on his own many times, then finally we decided to youtube it...

Thank goodness for the internet!

Our new home gym!

So lately I have been chaperoning multiple football, basketball, and wrestling events at the high school...well once we got my paycheck, over some delicious Henry's burgers, we made the decision to drive over to Sports Chalet to purchase a treadmill! It has a fitness journal (which keeps track of your daily exercise), an iPod hookup, and cup holders (every treadmill comes with cup holders, but it's still awesome). Jeremy has been the only one to use it so far because I have been sick for the past week. We attempted to get Doodle Bug to try it out, but she was more concentrated on sniffing the lettering on the track instead of walking, which resulted in her falling off the end of the track...haha.

A little pre-Valentines Day excitement...

So every year when Valentines Day rolls around Jeremy always does something super cute/romantic to surprise me. Last night we got into a heated discussion over the ridiculousness of buying flowers for Valentines day, that the day is/isn't just for single people, flowers are a waste of money, different options for Valentines day, and did I mention flowers??? haha. So I was very surprised when I walked into my classroom to find this...

2 giant balloons, a chocolate fish, a beautiful bouquet of flowers, a musical dog that dances in his boxers, and "I Love U" spelled out in candy hearts (using only the yellow and orange ones, because those are my favorites)...
I have the BEST husband in the whole world...not to offend anyone...but you must admit, he's pretty awesome! Love you Jeremy!

Family bonding time...

We sure do enjoy being pre-parents with little Doodle Bug. Her favorite cuddle spot is with daddy on the couch. They LOVE to watch anything on ESPN or movies that daddy rents from Blockbuster.

Happy 12th birthday Lindsey!!!

This past weekend, our friend's daughter celebrated her birthday with a "murder mystery" theme. We were invited to help out and dress in character if we wanted to. Jeremy, being the fun loving person that he his, jumped at the chance to dress up while I agreed to help out. Jeremy was given the character of Fred Astaire; complete with cane and top hat, Jeremy tapped his way into the party. haha. He even willingly sang "Let's call the whole thing off" at one point during the evening. It was hysterical to watch him and he enjoyed every minute of it.

As you can see he was in full character... this is him tapping atop the fireplace bench.
Jen's son's friend Shamis was in full character as Elvis, complete with gyrating hips...haha.

Jen has been trying anything she can with Funfetti cake mix, including Funfetti pancakes. For her birthday cake, Lindsey wanted a Funfetti ice cream cake...it was delicious!!!

These two boys were adorable! Say hello to Jimmy Hendrix & Groucho Marx...

The Bull Riding Adventures

This past weekend, the Smith "kids" came to visit us. We played multiple concerts in our living room until 2am...Guitar Hero is getting lots of play time. haha. When we weren't playing Guitar Hero, the boys were out golfing and Kelsey hung out with me at school; she even guest spoke in a couple of my classes! Thanks Kelsey!

As for Saturday night and Sunday evening, we traveled up to Sacramento to watch Professional Bull Riding (the PBR). Jeremy has been watching PBR on Versus forever and was so excited when Carson called to say they would be going. It was definitely a cowboy weekend; boots, button down shirts, cowboy hats and "the wolf" radio station.

Giddy up...

This cowboy was in charge of rounding up the misbehaving bulls...

This cowboy didn't do so well...

Good thing Jeremy got a picture of him and Carson to remember the weekend...

3...2...1....HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

We spent the week of New Year's with my parents in San Diego. The weather was definitely not as cold as in Bishop! :) We had Christmas with my parents. The highlight of all the Christmas presents this year was the Wii! Jeremy's been wanting either an XBOX 360 or Wii. Being the only child that I am, I realized that if I got the Wii, I could actually play along with him, so my mom and I got out dark and early on Black Friday and got all the goods for the Wii. Jeremy was soooooo surprised. We spent most of the day as well as New Year's Eve playing mostly tennis, bowling and golf... We even came home to my dad getting his bowling skills up to par...haha.

New Year's Eve, we had Amy, Travis and Avenleigh over for Tostadas, Trivia Night, Wii and Brownies!!! Travis and Avy spent most of the night upstairs sleeping while we pigged out on Tostadas and Lumpia and played games.
The Wii...

(Trivia Night involved 6 rounds: What's News, Picture round, Nursery Rhymes, Christmas movie quotes, Music round, and Christmas trivia)...I had fun making it.

I was the host...

Amy & my dad were the "Awesome Nighs"

(pointing out my spelling error on their answer sheets)

Jeremy and my mom were the "PA-RNs"

(because he's a soon-to-be PA and she's an RN)

Fun times with the doggies...

Doodle Bug was pooped...

Lexi was so excited for the new year...
